Kailash : Their Darkest Hour
I took a South Asian Philosophy and Religion class at UNT one semester, and it really changed my life. During that class the
professor brought in pictures of a place in India called Mount Kailash, where a temple to Shiva (I think) was built, or rather
cut, into the mountain. The temple was basically cut-out of the stone, which was this black basalt stuff. Not that Mount
Kailash was an evil place, or Lord Shiva an evil god, but the black basalt and the name spoke to me, and thus Kailash sort of
became the center of all evil in my game. I'm very much looking forward to publishing the planetary aspects of Kailash, as it
was one of my favorite worlds (in fact, it's also a mirror of one of my favorite worlds). I did my best to make this world as
hellish as possible for the characters, and I think that keeping them on the planet and making the players sick of being there
helped a bit. Big changes happen here - some which deeply affect the group, some which will change the Known Worlds forever,
and even some that reach into the Qlippothic realms for their after-effects. Actually, the epic I'm about to run revolves
around one event which happened here and rippled into places best not even spoken of. Let's just say that Pearson and Samayelos
had more than one thing in common...
